How to clip image (Raster) in ArcGis 10
            
         When we are doing a project most of the time we have to prepare a Project reports and presentation or other hand for our project requirement we have to clip Google image or any map (Raster) with our boundary.

What is raster image
Raster graphics are composed of pixels. A raster image are in gif or jpeg, tiff, an array of pixels of various colors, which together from an image.
Raster image is producing through the process of Scanning, photo editing, images. A raster is a collection of dots called pixels. Each pixel is a tiny colored square. The resolution of a raster image or scanned image is expressed in terms of dots per inch or dpi.
            Scanned color image, a large number of colors will be required a raster image reproduction of the original source artwork accurately. Dotted pattern that approximates the original color in the image.

How to clip Raster map in ArcGis 10
-   Go to ArcGIS 10 and open ArcMap
-  Open new project and assign your desired coordinating system
-  Go to ArcCatelog and create new shape file and it should be a polygon layer.

Right click your folder---New--Shapefile


Create new shape file and give a name to shape file, feature type (Poligon, polyline,point ) assign coordinating system with edit button.


Add raster image to project


Enable edit tool and edit your bdr shape file your required polygon. This can be you area of interest.


Remember not to STOP EDIT. Go to window and click Image analysis tab. In Image analysis window select the vector image layer and go down to clip tool and click clip tool.


It will clip the raster map with your polygon area and output will be like this
